I volunteered to test the Wide Mouth Collapsible Bottle because there are two design elements that stuck out when I first saw this bottle in person.
First was the lid. Most of the folding water bottles I’ve seen have simple screw on, push-pull spouts with a clear cap that pops on and off (like our Flat Water Bottle). There’s nothing wrong with those lids, but this is one you would likely find on a much more expensive bottle. It’s made from high quality plastic, has more than adequate room for two fingers in the handle loop, and flips up to maximize liquid flow. I was impressed by how securely the lid snapped into place, and I felt confident that it wouldn’t pop back open in transit.
The second thing about this water bottle that I loved is the large 32-ounce capacity. The bottle is also freezer safe, so you could easily fill it part way, freeze it, and have plenty of water to drink while waiting for the ice to thaw. The capacity is one of the higher ones I’ve seen for this type of water bottle. When full, the bottle expands and forms a stable base for standing it upright. Believe it or not, it was stable enough for me to feel comfortable using the bottle at my desk without worrying about it flattening or folding over and spilling.
While personally, I prefer a different style of water bottle, the Wide Mouth Collapsible Water Bottle has definitely made me rethink folding water bottles. I would definitely use it again, and I have already recommended it to a few clients!
