American Idol’s top 11 contestants are the latest to create a public service video about the dangers of plastics pollution. They join the ranks of famous performers like Jack Johnson and Benicio del Toro, asking us to refuse, reduce, reuse, and recycle and talking about the dangers of plastics pollution.
However, Forbes reported last week that the Plastic Pollution Coalition (a consortium of celebrities, politicians and organizations including Surfrider, Greenpeace and others) found out that American Idol is being pressured by a sponsor to have the PSA and any American Idol association with it removed. The Plastic Pollution Coalition has (so far) refused to take it down.
We say using reusable water bottles and reusable grocery bags is good for everyone in the long run, so visit The Plastic Pollution Coalition to learn more.
